It all started in Brazil, back when I was in middle school and took art lessons. I remember spending late nights working on art projects that were supposed to be simple and quick, and begging my mother to buy me canvas, oil paint, and brushes. As a beginner, I copied everything. My first finished painting was Woodstock (Snoopy) walking on grass. Once in my 20's I took classes at the Smithsonian and the Art League School, which was very helpful and aided in my growth as an artist.
I use many different mediums, such acrylics, Posca markers, spray paint, watercolor, color pencils, sand, pads/condoms (new ones), magazine cutouts, oil paint, fabric paint, I use anything and everything that speaks to me. I believe that working with many mediums promotes genuine, wild thinking, and free expression. Each idea manifests in its own individual style, and that means bringing the world into my studio.
I was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. Constantly taking public transportation exposed me to a variety of graffiti. I also had great exposure to the Indian culture during my teenage years in the U.S. Both influences can easily be seen in my art. Regardless of my cultural influences, nature is my all time go to for inspiration. Nature is imperfect, and even in its imperfections, the construct is so brilliant that I find myself contemplating the bark of a tree just as much as I contemplate the veins in a delicate flower petal.
